National Resistance reports heavy casualties in West Coast battles

The National Resistance announced heavy casualties resulting from intense fighting against Houthi militias on Yemen’s West Coast between August 9 and September 10. The group reported that over 500 of its members were killed and approximately 1,500 were wounded during the period.

According to the statement, the Houthi offensive utilized missile strikes, drone attacks, and explosive-laden boats, expanding across the Hays, Al-Kadha, Maqbanah, and Al-Barh axes. The National Resistance claimed the offensive received direct support and expertise from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and its regional allies.

In response to attempts to encircle their forces, the National Resistance leadership decided to reposition troops into new defensive lines. The group acknowledged support from Saudi Arabia and noted the participation of the Giants Brigades, the Shield of the Nation, and tribal volunteers. Presidential Leadership Council member Tareq Mohammed Abdullah Saleh reportedly managed the battle operations from his command headquarters despite shelling in the area.
