National Revenue Agency to restrict services for system update
The Bulgarian National Revenue Agency (NAP) has announced a temporary restriction of several services due to a scheduled technological update of one of its core information systems. The maintenance is planned to take place from August 27 to August 31, 2026, though some restrictions will begin at 18:00 on August 26.
During this period, card payments via POS terminals in NAP offices and through virtual POS services will be unavailable. While payments made through banks, payment service providers, or post offices can still be ordered, they will only be reflected in the NAP information system on August 31, maintaining the value date of when the funds reached the Bulgarian National Bank.
Other unavailable services include applications for priority social security contributions, changes to pension fund selections, updates to contact information (email and phone) via electronic services, and the confirmation of Personal Identification Codes (PIC).
Electronic services for submitting declarations, applications, and requests for certificates will remain operational, though there may be delays in processing results. Physical documents submitted at NAP offices during this time will be processed after August 31. Health insurance status and debt information available on the electronic portal will reflect data accepted up to August 26.
