National Single Window processes 156,000 trade permits in Nigeria

Nigeria’s National Single Window (NSW) platform has processed 156,026 import permits, licences, and certificates since its launch on March 27, 2026. Project Director Tola Fakolade reported that the platform has seen a 20 to 30 per cent increase in issued permits and licences compared to the same period last year, which officials attribute to improved regulatory compliance.

The platform has onboarded more than 12,000 importers, customs agents, and freight forwarders, while maintaining a 99.98 per cent uptime. Transaction data shows the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) accounted for 104,956 transactions, while the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) processed 50,622.

In addition to permits, the NSW has processed 3,964 air and sea cargo manifests. While all airlines have been onboarded, 56 of 88 shipping lines are currently integrated for manifest transmission. The second phase of the project, which will focus on export licences and certificates, is expected to begin operations with the first batch of agencies before the end of 2026.
