National Sports Commission promises improved pay for Super Falcons

Bukola Olopade, Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), has announced plans to improve pay for the Super Falcons as part of a broader federal initiative to enhance welfare for women athletes.

Olopade stated that specific details regarding the improved compensation for the Super Falcons will be announced soon. The government's sports development strategy also includes expanding infrastructure by developing neighborhood facilities and assisting state governments with the construction and renovation of sports venues to increase community access.

Additionally, the NSC highlighted the increasing presence of women in sports administration, citing the Nigeria Netball Federation, which features a female president and a board where nine of the 13 members are women. The commission also reaffirmed its support for the D’Tigress basketball team following their recent continental success.
