National Tax and Customs Administration appoints new leadership
The National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) in Hungary has undergone a leadership change. Mónika Rózsáné Sádt assumed the role of President on September 15, 2026, while Dr. Attila Sisák took office as the Deputy President for Criminal and Law Enforcement on September 16, 2026.
President Rózsáné Sádt aims to increase public trust by ensuring the authority operates with transparency, predictability, and high professional standards. Her goals include simplifying obligations for law-abiding taxpayers while maintaining firm action against tax evasion, fraud, and intentional violations. She intends to promote equal playing fields for businesses and ensure rules apply uniformly to everyone.
Dr. Attila Sisák will lead the investigative units, focusing on protecting budget revenues, uncovering abuses, and strengthening cooperation with domestic and international partner authorities. Dr. Sisák brings extensive experience in combating budget fraud, money laundering, and organized crime, having previously held roles in the police, the Ministry of Finance, and the Sanctions Screening Department of OTP Bank.
