National Technical Museum acquires rare 1956 ČZ racing motorcycle
The National Technical Museum in Prague has acquired a rare, unrenovated 1956 ČZ 125 racing motorcycle. The machine was used by Miloslav Souček to represent Czechoslovak motorsport during the International Six Days Trial in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.
Private donor Karel Lorenc donated the motorcycle, which is valued at several hundred thousand koruna, to the museum. The donation coincided with the 70th anniversary of the historic victory and Souček’s 95th birthday. In addition to the motorcycle, the museum received a plaque and original competition documents, including route plans.
Because ČZ racing machines were produced in only a few units per year, this unrenovated specimen is considered one of the rarest of its kind and a significant piece of Czechoslovak motorcycling history.
