National Testing Agency moves sensitive operations to new Delhi office with CISF security

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has relocated its confidential and sensitive operations to a new 55,000-square-foot facility in the Government of India Press Building on Minto Road, central Delhi. This move follows the 2024 NEET-UG paper leak controversy, which prompted a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe.

The CBI investigation identified significant security lapses at the NTA’s previous Okhla office, noting that subject experts were not frisked and could use small chits to record question paper details. The investigation also highlighted the absence of a dedicated control room for live CCTV monitoring.

To prevent future leaks, the Union Home Ministry has approved a new security arrangement involving the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Approximately 39 CISF personnel will be deployed to manage access control, including frisking, X-ray baggage screening, and the use of Door Frame Metal Detectors. Designated confidential areas within the new premises will be strictly monitored to ensure a foolproof system for handling sensitive examination materials.
