National Testing Agency undergoes major reforms and leadership changes

The Indian government is implementing comprehensive reforms within the National Testing Agency (NTA) to enhance the reliability, security, and transparency of national examinations. Following controversies regarding paper leaks and examination irregularities, such as those seen in the NEET-UG, the Ministry of Education is reviewing the entire process, including question paper security, candidate identification, center monitoring, and result preparation.

To strengthen the agency, the Ministry of Personnel has appointed several senior officials. Anshuman Sharma has been named Joint Secretary, while Ravi Kumar Singh and Prasanna Venkatesh V. have been appointed as Directors. Amit Samdariya has been appointed as Joint Director. These officials are required to assume their roles within three weeks of the order.

In an effort to foster public participation, the government has invited suggestions from students, parents, teachers, and the general public to improve the examination system. Feedback can be submitted in English, Hindi, or regional languages via WhatsApp, the official website, email, or a toll-free number, with a deadline set for September 13, 2026.
