National Theatre of Greece presents urban thriller ‘Omonia – A Mythologization’

The National Theatre of Greece is presenting ‘Omonia – A Mythologization’ at the Dipylon Theatre, starting October 22. Written by Anestis Azas, Michalis Pitidis, and Prodromos Tsinikoris, the production is an urban thriller that blends black comedy, political satire, and documentary elements.

Inspired by Athens' iconic Omonia Square, the play follows a man who discovers an unidentified body in the area. When he finds no mention of the incident in social media or news outlets, he begins a personal quest for the truth. The narrative uses the square as an allegory for the city and the country, exploring themes of conspiracy theories and fake news through various social lenses, including tourists, workers, and influencers.
