National Unity Party announces municipal candidates for upcoming elections

The National Unity Party (UBP) has announced several key candidates and strategic goals ahead of upcoming local and general elections. Prime Minister and UBP leader Ünal Üstel visited various party organizations in Lefkoşa, emphasizing the party's intent to regain control of the Lefkoşa Turkish Municipality. Üstel stated that the party aims to bring the stability seen in the central government to local administrations, specifically naming Mehmet Aktunç as the candidate for the Lefkoşa Turkish Municipality.

In a recent Party Assembly meeting, the UBP also finalized candidates for other municipalities. Hasan Öksüz was named the mayoral candidate for Lefke, and Tanyel Öztemiz was selected for Yeniboğaziçi.

Additionally, UBP Member of Parliament Hasan Taçoy addressed the party's political direction, asserting that holding power is a means to serve the country rather than an end in itself. Taçoy criticized the Republican Turkish Party (CTP), suggesting they are seeking alliances due to political desperation.
