National University of Entre Ríos launches literacy initiatives
The National University of Entre Ríos (UNER) has introduced new programs to promote reading and creative writing within its academic community and the broader public.
The Faculty of Educational Sciences has launched the ‘Tinta Blanca’ literary workshop. Coordinated by Fátima Cristal Gamarra and Rodrigo Barba, the workshop consists of four in-person sessions held on Thursdays in late October and November. The program aims to foster collective reading and critical thinking through the study of Argentine authors such as Pedro Mairal, Samanta Schweblin, Silvina Ocampo, and Jorge Luis Borges. The initiative is open to students, faculty, and staff regardless of prior experience.
Additionally, the Faculty of Management Sciences held its 16th Reading Promotion Day at the Bartolomé Zapata Community Integration Center. Organized by Library Science students, the event used a playful approach titled ‘Bibliodeportistas’ to engage children, adolescents, and families. The program included a ‘Bebeteca’ specifically designed for infants and toddlers to encourage early childhood literacy.
