National University of La Plata holds student elections and school enrollment deadlines

The National University of La Plata (UNLP) has concluded the list submission phase for student elections scheduled for November 4, 5, and 6. The elections will determine the leadership of student centers, 17 seats on the Superior Council, and 85 representatives across faculty Directing Councils. The Franja Morada group seeks to maintain its dominance in ten faculties, including Law, Economics, and Engineering, while leftist, Peronist, and independent groups aim to gain influence amid ongoing debates regarding university funding.

Separately, the UNLP has announced the deadline for the extended enrollment period for its pre-university schools for the 2027 academic cycle. Interested students must register via the SIPECU system by Tuesday, October 27. The vacancy lottery for these institutions, which include the Liceo ‘Víctor Mercante’, Colegio Nacional ‘Rafael Hernández’, and the Bachillerato de Bellas Artes ‘Profesor Francisco Américo De Santo’, is scheduled for November 3.
