National University of Singapore launches AI platform for research commercialization
The National University of Singapore (NUS) has rebranded its innovation and entrepreneurship arm as NUSX, launching a new AI-driven platform called Nova to accelerate the commercialization of research. Developed in collaboration with Zima Labs, Nova utilizes AI to analyze patents and research projects, matching them with market needs and potential commercial partners in minutes rather than weeks.
To support its deep tech startups, NUSX is expanding its global presence through a network of outposts. Following a presence in Silicon Valley, the organization plans to establish new hubs in Munich and Shanghai by the fourth quarter of 2026. These locations aim to connect Singaporean researchers with international markets, investors, and talent.
In Europe, a new partnership with UnternehmerTUM will focus on biotechnology, AI, and semiconductors. The initiative seeks to bridge innovation ecosystems between Singapore, Europe, and Asia, helping researchers transform scientific breakthroughs into scalable, global companies.
