National Walking Challenge concludes at Soestdijk Palace

The National Walking Challenge concluded with a festive event at Soestdijk Palace on September 19, 2026. The festival brought together more than 3,000 participants from approximately 400 walking groups across the Netherlands.

Among the participants was a group from Facet Ridderkerk, who joined Zorggroep Ridderkerk for the 20-week health initiative. The group, consisting of 38 walkers and 6 supervisors, completed a 5-kilometer walk during the final event. The festival featured a warming-up session led by former top volleyball player Bas van de Goor, a walking route around the festival grounds, music, and an information market.

The initiative aimed to promote physical activity, social connection, and healthy lifestyles through weekly Thursday afternoon walks.
