National Wool Museum completes Carmarthenshire Business Ambassador Scheme

The National Wool Museum in Drefach Felindre has become the first organization to complete Carmarthenshire’s new Business Ambassador Scheme. The initiative is a pilot project funded by the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund and is designed to build a network of tourism champions to promote the county’s culture, heritage, and landscapes.

Nine businesses were initially selected for the pilot program. As part of the scheme, staff at the museum received training and support, earning certificates and gold ambassador pin badges. The museum, which is currently marking 50 years of preserving Welsh industrial heritage, will display window stickers to recognize its status.

Councillor Hazel Evans, deputy leader of Carmarthenshire County Council, noted that the tourism sector contributes over £0.75 billion annually to the local economy. The scheme aims to strengthen the visitor experience by investing in local businesses and their staff to encourage more visitors to explore the region.
