National Youth Authority and Ghana Parliament partner on youth governance

The National Youth Authority (NYA) has established a new partnership with the Parliament of Ghana to increase youth involvement in democratic governance. The initiative aims to provide young people with practical experience in parliamentary procedures, such as debating issues, presenting motions, and building consensus.

During a National Youth Parliament Mock Sitting, NYA Chief Executive Officer Osman Abdulai Ayariga described the event as the first collaboration of its kind between the two institutions. He emphasized that the program is intended to serve as a training ground for developing leadership capacity, civic competence, and democratic literacy among the youth.

Mr. Ayariga encouraged participants to document their proposals and recommendations to be submitted to the NYA and other relevant institutions for formal consideration.
