Nationals Park to host inaugural Banana Bowl championship

The Banana Ball Championship League has announced that the inaugural “Banana Bowl” will be held at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., on October 10. The event marks the first championship for the six-team league, which was established by the Savannah Bananas to feature an entertainment-focused version of baseball.

All six teams in the league—the Savannah Bananas, Firefighters, Party Animals, Texas Tailgaters, Loco Beach Coconuts, and Indianapolis Clowns—will participate in the championship regardless of their regular-season standings. The event is expected to include a “Final Inning Show” featuring original music and performances from every team’s cast.

The championship game will be streamed live on Disney+. This follows a successful engagement at Nationals Park in June 2025, where the Savannah Bananas drew approximately 40,000 fans over two nights.
