Nationalt Genom Center faces criticism over DNA data security

Experts have criticized a report from the Nationalt Genom Center (NGC) following whistleblower allegations regarding significant gaps in the institution's IT security. While NGC Director Bettina Lundgren used a BDO report to dismiss 15 specific criticisms raised by employees, experts suggest the report fails to address the underlying vulnerabilities.

The center manages highly sensitive personal data, including the mapped genomes of Danish citizens. These datasets are considered high-value targets for foreign powers due to their sensitive nature.
