Nationwide Survey Finds Texas Ranks Third Most Sentimental State

A national survey of more than 2,400 Americans surveyed by Mixbook found that Texas is the third‑most sentimental state in the United States, behind Georgia and Mississippi. The study showed that 66% of Texans deliberately plan activities to create memories with loved ones, and 75% say it is very difficult to discard gifts, photos, cards or other keepsakes.

Across the country, the survey revealed that over one‑third of respondents display at least ten printed photos in their homes, more than half retain handwritten notes and greeting cards indefinitely, and 84% capture everyday moments with photos or video at least once a month. The most common motivations for documenting life include major milestones (81%), family and friends (80%), everyday moments (67%) and pets (66%).
