NATO Admiral warns of increased Russian military adaptability

Admiral Pierre Vandier, NATO Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, stated that the Russian military has become more creative and adaptive compared to the start of its military operations in 2022. In an interview with CBC, Vandier noted that Russian forces are learning and adapting rapidly, specifically highlighting significant advancements in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology. He observed that these technological improvements have notably reduced the effectiveness of certain Ukrainian interception methods.

Vandier expressed concerns that NATO may be falling behind and is not adequately prepared to keep pace with technological innovations on the battlefield. He criticized internal processes, citing delays in decision-making, funding issues, and the use of outdated procedures.

In response to these assessments, the Kremlin has dismissed allegations of Russian plans to attack NATO members. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov characterized NATO's actions as a policy of “rampant militarization,” suggesting that portraying Russia as a threat is used to justify increased defense spending among member states.
