NATO and Bosnia and Herzegovina to conduct major military exercise
The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (OSBiH) will conduct a major external evaluation exercise titled ‘TRENUTNI ODGOVOR 26’ from October 19 to 23, 2026, at the Manjača training ground. The exercise involves more than 1,200 personnel, including 881 members of declared OSBiH units and 330 members of the exercise directorate and evaluation structure.
Coordinated by Brigadier General Jasmin Čajić, the drill aims to verify and improve the operational capabilities, training, and equipment of declared units in accordance with NATO standards. The evaluation will be supported by NATO’s Allied Joint Force Command Naples and will utilize various assets, including OT M113 A1 armored personnel carriers, modern medical vehicles, and helicopters from the OSBiH Air Force and Air Defense Brigade.
The assessment follows the NATO OCC E&F concept, focusing on seven key areas: preparation, planning/design, execution, sustainability, command, control and communications, force protection, and information flow.
