NATO Exercise Rhino Titan tests airborne defense in Germany

More than 2,500 British, French, and German troops participated in Exercise Rhino Titan, a seven-week military drill held at the Sennelager Training Centre in Germany. The exercise, described as one of the largest British airborne operations in two decades, focused on defending NATO territory against modern threats, specifically drones and electronic warfare.

During the maneuvers, approximately 600 British and French paratroopers deployed from four Royal Air Force A400M Atlas transport aircraft. The training tested the ability of forces, including Britain’s 16 Air Assault Brigade, to deploy rapidly and ensure that specialized equipment and supplies arrive alongside personnel to allow for immediate operational readiness.

UK Defence Minister Wes Streeting stated that the exercise demonstrates the ability of allies to deliver rapid, large-scale airborne power to defend NATO territory. The drill comes amid heightened European tensions regarding Russian aggression and hybrid warfare tactics.
