Ukraine faces heavy Russian missile and drone strikes amid NATO visit

Ukraine has faced intense Russian aerial assaults, including a massive missile and drone wave on October 7 that killed at least 32 people, including five children, and injured approximately 100 others. Significant damage was reported in the Chernihiv region, specifically in Pryluky, where a residential building was destroyed. In Zaporizhzhia, guided aerial bombs struck residential areas, resulting in fatalities and injuries to civilians.

Amidst these attacks, a NATO delegation led by Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone visited Kyiv to reaffirm the alliance's commitment to Ukraine. The visit included meetings with Ukrainian military leadership to discuss frontline developments and security cooperation.

On the battlefield, Ukrainian forces reported success in the east through Operation Vivaldi, reclaiming 176 square kilometers of territory near Liman. Additionally, reports surfaced regarding a significant Russian command loss in occupied Donetsk from a previous strike that killed at least 20 high-ranking officers.
