NATO holds multi-domain operations conference in Split
NATO and the Croatian Armed Forces are hosting a three-day conference in Split from October 27 to 29, 2026, focused on multi-domain operations (MDO). Organized by Allied Command Transformation (ACT) and the Croatian military, the event explores how allies can better integrate capabilities across various domains through military and non-military synchronization.
More than 200 participants from 30 countries are discussing four key priorities: accelerating digital transformation, integrating space and cyber domains, coordinating activities across all domains, and strengthening civil-military synchronization. The concept of MDO aims to coordinate military actions in traditional domains, such as land, air, and sea, with cyber and space environments to achieve timely effects.
The conference was opened by Lieutenant General Tihomir Kundid, Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, and Vice Admiral Simon Asquith, Chief of Staff of NATO's Allied Command Transformation. General Kundid emphasized that modern warfare is no longer limited to traditional battlefields, requiring the integration of hybrid conflict management, rapid decision-making, and interconnected capabilities.
