NATO launches direct engine support ordering for Italian NH90 helicopters

The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) has launched a direct ordering system to support the T700 TE61 engines used in Italy’s NH90 helicopters. The first operational supply orders were processed with Avio Aero on September 3.

This initiative follows a Support Frame Contract between the NATO Helicopter Management Agency (NAHEMA) and Avio Aero. The process is managed through the N@MSIS electronic material support information system, which provides online access to technical and commercial data for NH90 and Tiger helicopter fleets.

The new system allows users to place electronic orders and track them from creation through to delivery and invoicing via the NSPA Automation Portal. This move is intended to increase the level of automation in maintenance and technical support for the Italian Army and Navy's helicopter fleets.
