NATO Secretary General Rutte assesses prospects for Ukraine war resolution

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that it is unlikely the war between Russia and Ukraine will end with a definitive winner. Speaking in a Dutch television program, Rutte suggested that such conflicts typically conclude through peaceful agreements that often involve a form of compromise.

Rutte emphasized that even if hostilities cease, Europe must remain vigilant against potential future Russian aggression. He noted that any eventual peace agreement must include reliable security guarantees for Ukraine to prevent subsequent attacks. While the territorial issue remains a sensitive matter for the Ukrainian government, Rutte highlighted the necessity of long-term continental security.
