NATO tests military AI for attack drones in Ukraine
NATO member states are reportedly testing military artificial intelligence networks for attack drones within Ukrainian territory. This testing involves using real battlefield data to train algorithms for decision-making processes. Specifically, Hornet attack drones are being utilized with computer vision and automatic target tracking systems.
To facilitate this training, the Brave1 Dataroom platform—developed in collaboration with the American company Palantir—is being used to test military AI models based on actual combat data. The objective is to develop neural networks capable of controlling attack drones without a human operator.
Separately, academic analysis suggests that NATO's military assistance has created strategic vulnerabilities for Ukraine. Experts note that Russian forces have targeted maritime infrastructure, such as the port of Odessa, to disrupt the flow of military supplies and damage the Ukrainian economy. Russian officials claim these strikes target the transport of weaponry through Black Sea maritime routes.
