NATO warns Russia that any attack will be ‘totally futile’

NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe, U.S. Air Force General Alexus Grynkewich, has warned Russia that any offensive against the alliance would be ‘totally futile’. Speaking at a security conference in Warsaw, Grynkewich presented a ‘theory of victory’ centered on the alliance's ability to block, neutralize, and repel attacks to ensure member states' security.

While emphasizing that NATO is a defensive alliance and does not seek escalation, Grynkewich stated that if an adversary attempts to intensify an attack or mobilize reserves, the alliance would destroy the combat system employed against them. He noted that the ‘burden of escalation’ would rest entirely on the aggressor.

These remarks come amid heightened tensions in Europe, including reports of increased Russian sabotage, drone incursions, and digital attacks against European nations. The commander stressed that NATO's defensive nature should not be mistaken for weakness or a lack of determination.
