NatRoad launches global survey for Australian truck drivers

The National Road Transport Association (NatRoad) has partnered with the International Road Transport Union (IRU) to launch the Global Truck Driver Barometer. For the first time, Australian truck drivers are being invited to participate in this global survey to provide direct insight into their professional experiences.

The confidential five-minute survey aims to gather data to help address the national driver shortage. It focuses on key aspects of the profession, including pay, working conditions, time spent away from home, rest facilities, safety, and the level of respect drivers receive in their roles.

NatRoad CEO Warren Clark stated that the initiative seeks to move beyond general discussions about the driver shortage by hearing directly from those in the industry. The collected data is intended to provide evidence for lobbying federal and state governments to improve conditions and attract a new generation of professional drivers. The survey remains open until October 31, 2026.
