Natsuki Hanae and EXIT discuss extreme saving habits at au Denki event

Voice actor Natsuki Hanae and the comedy duo EXIT (Rintaro and Daiki Kaneko) appeared at the ‘au Denki 10th Anniversary Project Media Presentation’ in Tokyo on August 21.

Hanae, who provides the voice for the project's mascot ‘Runrunrunmo’, discussed his household electricity usage, noting that his monthly bill reaches approximately 10,000 yen due to running air conditioning for his cat. During the event, Rintaro shared updates regarding his life as a father following the birth of his second child.

Daiki Kaneko revealed extreme cost-cutting measures since moving into his own apartment. He stated that he keeps all electrical outlets unplugged except for the refrigerator, resulting in a monthly bill of around 5,000 yen—significantly lower than the national average. Kaneko also claimed he avoids charging smartphones or small gaming devices at home, stating, “Basically, I don't charge my phone at home. That's something you do outside.” Rintaro added that the heat in Kaneko's home makes it difficult to focus during comedy rehearsals, describing the environment as feeling like a sauna.
