Natthakan Chantham attempts Suryakumar Yadav’s ‘Supla shot’

Thailand batter Natthakan Chantham has revealed her attempts to incorporate Indian T20 star Suryakumar Yadav’s trademark ‘Supla shot’ into her batting style. The unorthodox stroke involves using the wrists to scoop high-speed balls over the wicketkeeper or fine-leg fielder.

Chantham noted that the experiment has not yet been successful, joking that the attempt “hit me everywhere.” Ahead of the 2026 Asian Games, she expressed a desire to focus on her existing strengths while continuing to work on the shot.

Chantham cited Suryakumar Yadav as her favorite cricketer, admiring his confidence and unconventional approach to the game. She also expressed admiration for Indian captain Shubman Gill, specifically noting his effortless batting style and ability to time the ball.
