Natthaphong proposes drug suppression measures and no-confidence motion

Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut, leader of the People's Party and Leader of the Opposition, has outlined strategic plans regarding both drug enforcement and upcoming parliamentary proceedings. During a visit to Chiang Mai, Natthaphong proposed a three-stage approach to combat drug trafficking: addressing production in neighboring countries (upstream), securing borders and monitoring financial flows (midstream), and community-based rehabilitation (downstream). He emphasized the need for better equipment, welfare for officials, and legal authority to collect biometric data in special border control zones to counter sophisticated smuggling networks.

Simultaneously, Natthaphong is preparing a no-confidence motion against the government. He intends to invite all non-government parties to discuss joint debate topics. A key focus of the upcoming motion will be exposing alleged influence networks, referred to as the ‘blue regime,’ and investigating corruption allegations surrounding the Senate election. He noted that the People's Party has been continuously gathering data during the parliamentary recess to prepare for these disclosures.
