Natural cucumber harvest launched in Emcelli, Manisa, Turkey

Farmers in Emcelli Mahallesi, a neighbourhood of Manisa's Sarıgöl district, have begun harvesting cucumbers grown by natural methods. The daily pick‑up from the fields is promptly packaged and delivered fresh to consumers, with a strong focus on pickling demand.

Producer Harun Hasırcı says the cucumbers are collected early each morning, with shipments to retail and wholesale customers, as well as bulk sales for wedding and circumcision celebrations. He notes that the cucumbers, priced at 50 Turkish lira per kilogram, are also used shredded in yogurt‑based dips or sliced with a pinch of salt, and that interest in the product continues to rise.
