Natural DIY methods for household cleaning and hygiene

Natural and DIY methods are recommended for maintaining household hygiene, specifically for cleaning clothes drying racks and bathroom fixtures without using aggressive chemicals.

To sanitize a drying rack, which can accumulate dust, detergent residue, and moisture that promote bacteria and mold, natural agents such as vinegar, baking soda, and lemon can be used as degreasers and disinfectants. Maintaining a clean drying surface helps prevent microbial contamination on fabrics.

For bathroom cleaning, several eco-friendly recipes are suggested:

- A vinegar-based solution: A mixture of 50 ml vinegar, 350 ml distilled water, a small amount of dish soap, and essential oils like tea tree oil to combat limescale. - A citric acid solution: Using 50 g of citric acid in 250 ml of distilled water with dish soap and essential oils, which can act as a whitener or brightener. - A Marseille soap solution: Dissolving grated pure Marseille soap in 500 ml of warm water, with optional food-grade alcohol to aid drying.

Users are cautioned not to use acidic solutions on natural stones like marble or travertine, as they may cause damage.
