Natural England criticized over Hinkley Point C delays

The construction of Britain’s first new nuclear plant this century has faced significant delays, with reports suggesting the 2030 operational date may be pushed back due to ongoing regulatory hurdles involving environmental mitigation measures.

Concerns have also been raised regarding the leadership of Natural England. The current chair, Tony Juniper, previously served as the Executive Director of Friends of the Earth and has a history of opposing nuclear power, leading to questions about the organization's stance on energy infrastructure.
