Natural History Museum in London reopens long-closed gallery

The Natural History Museum in London is set to reopen a gallery that has been closed to the public for over 80 years. Starting September 16, the space on the second floor of the Waterhouse Building will host a new exhibition titled ‘Nature and Us’.

The room previously served as an osteology and mammal gallery but was converted into a botanical storage area following the destruction of the museum's herbarium during World War II.

The new exhibition will feature 50 selected exhibits exploring the evolving relationship between humans and nature. Notable items include a 19th-century miniature dinosaur model from Crystal Palace, a 400,000-year-old hand axe, and a Victorian-era seal skeleton named Jenny.
