Natural household ingredients for effective cleaning
Natural household ingredients can be used as effective alternatives to aggressive chemical cleaners for maintaining kitchen and bathroom surfaces.
To clean kitchen cloths and restore whiteness, adding two packets of citric acid directly into the washing machine drum at 60 degrees Celsius can dissolve limescale and organic stains. This method avoids the use of harsh chlorine bleaches, which can damage cotton fibers and make them stiff. For extremely soiled cloths, pre-soaking them in lukewarm water with citric acid can help soften oil and tomato stains.
For removing white mineral deposits and water stains from glass shower cabins, a mixture of equal parts alcohol vinegar and dish soap is recommended. The acidity of the vinegar dissolves limescale, while the dish soap helps the solution adhere to the glass and breaks down grease. It is advised to let the solution sit for several minutes before wiping and to avoid using vinegar on natural stone or sensitive surfaces, as the acid may cause damage.
