Natural incidents reported in Aydın and Zonguldak
Two separate incidents involving property damage and safety risks have been reported in Turkey. In the Nazilli district of Aydın, a fire broke out in a detached house belonging to 86-year-old Nazif Korkmaz. The flames quickly spread to the roof and interior, causing panic among neighbors. Despite the heavy smoke, Korkmaz managed to escape the building on his own. Medical teams treated him for shock and smoke inhalation, but he is reported to be in good health with no life-threatening injuries.
In Zonguldak's Çaydamar neighborhood, heavy rainfall triggered a landslide that blocked access to a residence. The landslide caused a tree to fall and sever power lines, leaving the home without electricity. The resident's son, Ömer Koltuk, noted that his 84-year-old mother was fortunately not at home during the incident. Local authorities are expected to work on clearing the blocked road and repairing the electrical infrastructure.
