Natural landscapes in the Netherlands draw attention
Various natural sites in the Netherlands are gaining attention for their unique landscapes and wildlife. In the province of Utrecht, the Henschotermeer has been highlighted as a notable recreational area. Originally formed through sand excavation, the lake is situated within the Utrechtse Heuvelrug forest and features clear water, sand beaches, and a small forested island accessible via pedestrian bridges.
In the province of Limburg, the Molenpas nature reserve near Maasgouw offers different experiences. This area, also created through gravel excavation after World War II, features premium hiking trails and has been noted for encounters with wild horses.
