Natural vinegar and bay leaf remedies used to deter household insects
Natural household remedies using white vinegar and bay leaves are gaining popularity as chemical-free methods to deter insects and spiders from homes.
One method involves macerating dried bay leaves in white vinegar for three to seven days. This solution can be diluted with water and sprayed around door and window frames to create a preventive barrier, as the aromatic oils in bay leaves and the acidic scent of vinegar act as deterrents.
For spider prevention specifically, pest control experts from Rentokil recommend a mixture of eight parts white vinegar to two parts water. This spray should be applied to strategic entry points such as window sills, door frames, baseboards, and cracks to discourage arachnids from entering the living space.
