Nature-based health and education initiatives launched in Italy

Various initiatives in Italy are highlighting the therapeutic and developmental benefits of nature through educational and training programs.

In the Alba and Bra regions, ASL CN2, in collaboration with local pedagogical coordinators, is hosting a series of meetings titled ‘Nati con la Natura – Outdoor education: i benefici del contatto con la natura’. Aimed at parents, educators, and teachers of children aged 0 to 6, these sessions will feature experts including pediatricians, neuropsychiatrists, and psychologists to discuss how outdoor experiences support psychomotor, cognitive, and emotional development.

In Quartucciu, the association La voce delle piante, supported by Coldiretti and the Fondazione di Sardegna, is organizing a two-day free course on therapeutic gardening. Held at the ‘Abitare con il verde’ multifunctional farm, the training combines medical, agronomic, and psychological expertise to explore how contact with greenery can aid psychophysical wellbeing, social inclusion, and rehabilitation.
