Nature conservation and hiking initiatives organized in Italian reserves

Various environmental and cultural initiatives are being organized across Italian nature reserves to promote biodiversity and local history.

In the Bosco delle Pianelle Reserve, the WWF Trulli e Gravine is organizing a guided 6.5 km excursion on August 22, 2026. The walk aims to explore the area's biodiversity and historical connection to woodcutters, charcoal burners, and shepherds. The event includes visits to a large holm oak and a panoramic viewpoint.

In San Benedetto in Alpe, the National Park's visitor center is hosting a screening of the documentary ‘Il Sentiero delle Foreste Sacre’, directed by Isacco Emiliani. The event also features the presentation of a new hiking guide covering a 90-kilometer itinerary through ancient forests and sacred sites, stretching from Marradi to the Sanctuary of La Verna.
