Nature conservation initiatives organized in the Netherlands
Various nature conservation initiatives are taking place in the Netherlands. On October 10, Natuurmonumenten is organizing a ‘Wilde Buitendag’ (Wild Outdoor Day) in the Vreugderijkerwaard near Zwolle. This event is designed for children aged 3 to 12 to learn about nature through activities such as tracking animals, making fire, and building beaver dams.
Additionally, ARK Rewilding Nederland is hosting a ‘de-fencing’ event at KempenBroek on November 1. Volunteers will work to remove old fences, mesh, and barbed wire to create more space for wild nature and improve connectivity between habitats. The goal is to reduce landscape fragmentation and allow animals to move freely across the cross-border nature area.
