Nature destinations highlight autumn seasonal changes

Autumn offers diverse opportunities for nature exploration in Flanders and the Netherlands. In Belgium, the Sonian Forest near Brussels, known for its UNESCO-listed beech forests, provides scenic walking routes through golden and brown landscapes. Additionally, the Hoge Kempen National Park in Limburg features over 12,000 hectares of forests, heathlands, and dunes, offering expansive views from locations like Terhills.

In the Netherlands, IVN guides will lead an autumn walk in Wickelhofpark on September 26. The excursion focuses on the seasonal changes in flora, such as berries, fruits, and nuts, and how plants disperse seeds to support local wildlife. The guided tour lasts approximately one and a half to two hours.
