Nature destinations in Italy: Acquacheta Waterfall and Cala Sisinesi
Italy offers diverse summer destinations for nature enthusiasts, ranging from mountain waterfalls to coastal coves.
In the Casentinesi Forests National Park, the Acquacheta Waterfall can be reached via the CAI 407 hiking trail starting from San Benedetto in Alpe. This route traverses the valley of the Acquacheta torrent and passes through the Piana dei Romiti. The area is characterized by beech forests and the historic Abbey of San Benedetto in Alpe, located between the Romagna and Tuscany regions.
On the eastern coast of Sardinia, Cala Sisinesi provides a coastal alternative. Located in the Gulf of Orosei near Baunei, this beach is accessible primarily by foot. Unlike typical sandy beaches, it features white pebbles and is situated within a deep cove formed by the Codula di Sisine seasonal torrent. The area is noted for its limestone cliffs and Mediterranean vegetation.
