Nature excursions and guided tours organized across the Netherlands
Various nature-focused activities are being organized across the Netherlands this summer, including birdwatching excursions and guided cycling tours.
In the Medemblik and Wieringen regions, exclusive excursions are scheduled throughout August to observe the start of bird migration. These tours visit areas such as Waterberging Twisk and the Medemblik foreshore, offering sightings of species including avocets, kingfishers, curlews, godwits, and white storks. Guides use telescopes to provide close-up views and share information regarding the importance of these protected habitats.
Additionally, IVN De Ronde Venen & Uithoorn is hosting its annual summer cycling tours. These 25-kilometer evening rides are led by nature guides who provide educational talks about local wildlife and landscapes during breaks. The tours are free to participate in and aim to encourage community engagement with the local environment.
