Nature excursions scheduled in De Kwegt and Vragenderveen
Several nature excursions are scheduled for Sunday, September 13, in different regions of the Netherlands.
In Nederweert-Eind, the IVN Weert birdworking group is organizing a birdwatching walk in the De Kwegt nature area. The excursion aims to observe migratory birds, including storks, black storks, and ospreys, which use the area as a stopover. The walk will last approximately two hours, covering about 5 kilometers.
In Vragender, the Stichting Marke Vragender Veen, in collaboration with VVV Oost Gelre, is hosting guided tours of the Vragenderveen peatland. Because the area is generally not accessible to the public due to safety concerns and conservation needs, these guided tours provide insight into the unique high moorland ecosystem and its management. Participants are advised to wear sturdy footwear suitable for wet terrain.
