De Meinweg National Park, located in Middle Limburg near the German border, is characterized by its unique relief, featuring forests, heathlands, fens, and stream valleys. The area contains significant elevation changes of up to fifty meters. Historically used for wood harvesting and grazing, the landscape now supports various species, including the adder.

Tiengemeten, situated in the Haringvliet, is a former agricultural island that has been returned to nature. The island features flower-rich meadows, reedlands, and marshes. Visitors can explore the 10-kilometer Wilderness Route, which offers views of the Haringvliet and opportunities to see Scottish Highland cattle, beavers, and birds such as the white-tailed eagle or osprey.
