Nature walks organized in Midden-Delfland and Appelscha
Various seasonal nature walks are being organized across the Netherlands. In Midden-Delfland, the Agrarische Natuurvereniging Vockestaert has established the “Rondje Abtswoudsebos” route for the month of August. This approximately 8 km free walking path traverses nature, meadows, and historical dikes, including the Tanthofkade and Mantjeskade. The route starts at the Vitesse Delft football club parking lot.
In Appelscha, Staatsbosbeheer is hosting a summer evening walk at the Aekingerzand on August 20. The 5 to 6 km guided walk allows participants to observe the sand dunes and blooming heather. The area is known for its extreme temperature fluctuations and unique biodiversity, including sand beetles and the stonechat bird.
