Argentina promotes home energy‑saving tips for winter

Utility company Naturgy released a guide for Argentine households on reducing natural‑gas consumption during the high‑demand months. The advice stresses keeping indoor temperatures between 18 °C and 20 °C, sealing drafts with door and window strips, using short, controlled ventilation periods, and setting water‑heater temperatures only as needed.

Architect Laura Núñez added a ventilation technique called rapid cross‑ventilation: opening two opposite windows for a few minutes to refresh indoor air without cooling walls, floors or furniture, thereby avoiding extra heating load.

General energy‑saving recommendations echo these points, urging residents to let sunlight warm rooms, close unused rooms, maintain heating equipment, and use textiles such as rugs and curtains as additional insulation.
